5.11.15 In collaboration with TranScience and reviewers Base Pair Biotechnologies has awarded the SMART Award 2015 to Indhira De La Rosa in Dr. Daniel Mendoza’s lab at Baylor College of Medicine.  Presented annually, each SMART Award (Student Mentor Academic Research Award) is a valuable in-kind grant. Through the support of communities, generous donors and corporate partnership, this award will provide funding and resources to academic research laboratories in order to provide educational opportunities for students to obtain research training and experiences. In addition, this award will facilitate laboratories to apply different techniques and novel technologies to expand their research. The award from Base Pair will focus in the area of flow cytometry/cell sorting application or aptamer-drug conjugate approach and is titled Protease inhibitors impair vaccine efficacy and host defense against Streptococcus pneumoniae.
